Andrew Latham joined
Teacher Universe in
December 1999 to guide the design and development of online assessment products
and services for teachers. Teachers use these assessments to diagnose their
technology-related learning needs and to measure their learning growth as
a result of engaging in online professional development.
Prior to joining Teacher
Universe, Dr. Latham taught seventh-grade English in Connecticut and worked
at Educational Testing Service (ETS) in New Jersey. Over his seven-year career
at ETS, Andy managed the design and development of writing assessments for
students, adult literacy assessments, and teacher licensure assessments. Most
recently he directed the development of a suite of performance and portfolio
assessments for the licensure of school administrators.
Dr. Latham received his
undergraduate degree in English from Harvard University, and his Master's
degree in English from Boston University. He earned his doctorate in Educational
Psychology from Temple University in 1999 and has published his research in
journals that include Educational Leadership, the Journal of Teacher Education,
and the Journal of Personnel Evaluation in Education.
